Getting a REAL second opinion has never been easier. Come with a notepad and your questions. Dr. Aivalotis will sit with you face-to-face and answer any questions you may have about your medical concerns.
Here are some common reasons why you want to schedule a consultation:
- Your doctor has done tests but has not explained them to you.
- You don’t want to be prescribed a medication and would like your alternatives discussed.
- You are tired of your doctor sending you to one specialist after another with no clear answers.
- You were told you need surgery and you want to avoid such a life-changing procedure.
- You don’t trust what you were told.
- You feel like something has been missed.
- You were told that you are fine but know that something is wrong.
- You desperately want to get well!
What To Expect During A Second Opinion Consultation
When scheduling your appointment, plan on about 1 hour. You will have a few short pages of paperwork to complete before your visit and the time for that will be built-in to your appointment time.
Gather your documents or medical tests and drop them off at least 2 days prior to your appointment. You can bring discs of your test results, reports, documents, etc.
Bring a friend or relative – if you want. Sometimes it’s hard to remember everything that is discussed. A second person can remember things that you may forget.
The doctor may want to do a problem-focused exam throughout the consultation to verify a diagnosis.
The doctor will not officially diagnose you and the advice is not to take the place of your current medical provider. Dr. Aivalotis will provide you with information that you can use to advocate for yourself in your health journey.
You will receive a follow-up email within a few days after if any specific recommendations were made.
Dr. Aivalotis Is More Than Your Average Chiropractor
You may wonder why you would want a second opinion from a chiropractor and what makes Dr. Aivalotis qualified. Contrary to common belief, chiropractors are trained in the working of the body from the same level of professionals that teach in traditional medical schools. MDs, PhDs, and other educators make up the expert teams that educate doctors from both disciplines. The difference is that chiropractors lean towards a more natural and less invasive approach to healing. Chiropractors are experts in looking at your body as a whole. Sometimes that’s the perspective that you need.
Dr. Aivalotis has excelled in diagnosing patients’ conditions by finding those things that other providers have missed. Dr. Don has always been at the top of his profession and is a trusted colleague of many of the top specialists in the Pittsburgh area.
“Dr. Don will take the time and listen to you. He will tell you things that you have never heard from your MD. You will truly be amazed.” – Anonymous Patient
